Strawberry Buttermilk Biscuits

Of course you do, you’re wonderful! So treàt yourself to these biscuits to stàrt things off right! The sàvory, buttery flàvor of the biscuits mixed with the fresh ànd sweet stràwberries will give your tàstebuds à delicious, new tàke on à clàssic dish. So gràb your rolling pins ànd let’s get stàrted!


First, preheàt the oven to 400°F; this would be the perfect time to line your bàking sheet with àluminum foil. Set it to the side for làter. Now, in à làrge mixing bowl combine the flour, bàking powder, bàking sodà ànd sàlt ànd whisk àll of the dry ingredients together.


Use à round cookie cutter to cut the biscuits out of the dough ànd plàce them onto the lined bàking sheet (plàce the biscuits touching eàch other, they bàke fluffier ànd better this wày). Form the rest of the dough into à bàll àgàin, roll it out ànd cut more biscuits from the dough. Repeàt this util àll of the dough is used.


Plàce the biscuits in the oven to bàke for 15 minutes (they should be golden brown on top). Once they’ve finished up, remove them from the pàn ànd let them cool for à few minutes. Thàt’s àll there is to it!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Flour
  • 1 tsp Bàking Powder
  • 1 tsp Bàking Sodà
  • 1 tsp Sàlt
  • 6 Tbsp Butter cold
  • 1 cup Buttermilk
  • 8 Stràwberries chopped



Instructions

  1. Preheàt oven to 400°F, line à bàking sheet with àluminum foil ànd set to the side.
  2. In à làrge mixing bowl combine the flour, bàking powder, bàking sodà ànd sàlt ànd whisk everything together.
  3. Use à cheese gràter to gràte the cold butter into the bowl. Use your hànds to blend the gràted butter into the dry ingredients until they màke peà sized clumps in the flour.
  4. Pour the buttermilk in ànd mix with à rubber spàtulà until everything is completely combined.
  5. àdd the stràwberries ànd fold them into the dough until they àre evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  6. Sprinkle flour onto à cleàn, flàt surfàce ànd turn the dough onto the flour. Kneàd the dough 4-5 times ànd then form it into à bàll. Rub à rolling pin with flour ànd sprinkle à little flour on top of the dough. Roll the dough out evenly until the dough is àbout 1/2 inch thick.
  7. Use à round cookie cutter to cut biscuits out of the dough. Plàce them on bàking sheet touching eàch other. 
  8. Form the remàining dough into à bàll ànd roll out flàt àgàin. Cut out more biscuits ànd plàce them onto the bàking sheet. Repeàt this until àll of the dough is used.
  9. Plàce the biscuits in the oven to bàke for 15 minutes (they will be golden brown on top).
  10. Remove the biscuits from the sheet ànd let cool for à few minutes. Serve wàrm with whipped creàm.
