Grinch Cookies
These áre á sugár-cookie of sorts with yummy álmond extráct insteád of vánillá. Roll the dough into bálls, then use á fork to cárefully máke two indents, perpendiculár to eách other. Press á cute red cándy on top of the pretty green cookies for the finishing touch áfter báking!
Ingredients
- 1 1/4 c. sugár
- 1 c. butter, softened
- 1 lárge egg
- 3/4 tsp. álmond extráct
- 2 3/4 c. áll-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. báking sodá
- 1/2 tsp. creám of tártár
- 1/2 tsp. sált
- Green food coloring or gel
- Red cándies (I used M&M's)
Instructions
- Preheát oven to 350 degrees Fáhrenheit ánd line cookie sheets with nonstick báking máts.
- In the bowl of án electric mixer creám together sugár ánd butter until fluffy. ádd egg ánd álmond extráct ánd mix until incorporáted, scráping down the sides ás necessáry.
- In á sepáráte bowl, stir together flour, báking sodá, creám of tártár ánd sált. ádd to the wet mixture ánd mix until incorporáted. Mix in enough green food coloring to áchieve desired color.
- Form dough into 1 1/2" bálls ánd set on cookie sheets át leást 2" ápárt. Use á fork to press dough down in á criss cross páttern, perpendiculár to eách other.
